Niki A.
(she/her)
MÖV Flow, MÖV Ashtanga, MÖV SLOW FLOW, MÖV RESTORATIVE/YIN
Niki teaches Flow, Restorative/Yin, Slow Flow, and Ashtanga, and brings a style that's intentional and breath-focused — playful, a little edgy, and always inviting. Born and raised in Iran, she moved to the U.S. in 2011 and has called Minneapolis home for the past five years.
How did you find your way to yoga?
I've been in the world of yoga for almost 11 years! I randomly took a class one day and was immediately hooked. I did my teacher training within that first year and started teaching right away. Teaching at multiple studios with different styles taught me even more than my initial training did — so I kept going, adding another 200hr and a 300hr YTT along the way. After years of teaching, opening my own studio, and leading my own trainings, retreats, and workshops, I was invited to manage a studio in Minneapolis and learn from my mentor, Jason Hulshof, at Heart Yoga. I've taught teacher trainings here in the Twin Cities through his studio and Lifetime, and I'm excited to keep learning on this path. As she puts it: "I'm not the teacher. I'm just a guide!"
What should we know about your background?
Niki is originally from Iran and has lived in a few different states since moving to the U.S. in 2011 before settling in Minneapolis. She's a self-described travel lover — especially as an immigrant, she says getting to see more of the world means everything to her. Iceland and Ireland top her list so far.
What else should we know about you?
I love climbing and hanging out with friends, preferably around a campfire! I also love camping and off-roading. No pets yet — but never say never!
